House of Stereo has been Jacksonville’s go-to high-end audio shop since 1969—when our father Fred walked through its doors as one of its very first customers. He brought us here year after year, unknowingly planting the seed of a passion that would last a lifetime.

When the shop was on the verge of closing after five decades of service, Joe stepped in—not just to buy a business, but to preserve a legacy.

 

Today, House of Stereo is a state-of-the-art destination for audiophiles around the world. With six demo rooms, industry-leading brands, and an internationally recognized online store, we’ve combined the warmth of a local stereo shop with the reach of a global retailer.

 

And now, our own kids have audio gear we couldn’t have dreamed of at their age—proof that the love of great sound keeps evolving, just like the music.

Why did House of Stereo almost close—and how was it saved?

After more than 50 years in business, House of Stereo was nearly sold to a corporate chain. Joe, the founder’s son, stepped in to save the store and relaunch it for a new generation.
