Driven by its impressive 670 mm spherical wave horn with a frequency range of up to 170 Hz, the DUO is the epitome of performance and dynamic elegance. Because in the captivating world of spherical wave horns, size is the decisive criterion. The larger the dimensions of the horn, the deeper its lower bandwidth and the more the listener is drawn into the maelstrom of outstanding performance. The Evolution AA XM2 midrange driver - a 170 mm chassis with a powerful Alnico magnet - is designed for a large linear diaphragm excursion. Its new "Soft Mesh- Compound" diaphragm uses a stable mesh carcass as the basis of the construction. The microscopic openings in the mesh are sealed with a damping elastomer coating. The combination of the solid mesh structure with flexible lining develops a broadband absorption effect that effectively dampens partial vibrations of the diaphragm and thus unwanted harmonics.

The DUO GT uses the XT3 tweeter from the TRIO G3. The lighter, ring-shaped diaphragm of the XT3 extends the frequency range to up to 28,000 Hz with a sensitivity of 107 dB and ensures more clarity, focus, and a fuller and more natural sound.  By using two powerful XB12 drivers in a bass reflex configuration, the dynamic headroom of the bass has been practically doubled compared to its predecessor. We have increased the voice coil from 100 mm of the previous model to 153 mm. This gigantic motor structure with a diameter of 6 inches achieves outstanding values of power factor and power handling. At the same time, thermal compression is significantly reduced.  The G3-1000 bass amplifier has 1,000 watts and is equipped with a modern digital sound processor. The new user interface makes it easy to adjust the sound to individual preferences and seamlessly integrate the system into a variety of rooms.

SEMI-ACTIVE VERSION.

The semi-active version is designed for use with external HiFi amplifiers. With an efficiency of 107 dB/W/m and an impedance of 18 ohms, the loudspeaker is extremely easy to operate and is also ideal for low-power amplifiers. The ideal loudspeaker for the best high-end amplifiers in the world.

ITRON VERSION.

In the ITRON version, the amplifiers are built into the loudspeaker and no additional external power amplifiers are required. We have developed an electronic system that is based on fundamentally different functional principles than all conventional amplifiers on the market. We have thus succeeded - as the first manufacturer in the world - in making the technological approach of the power amplifier work, which was considered perfect until then, technologically uncontrollable. For a sound that simply sounds like paradise.

Modular technology for diversity & timelessness.

Each model has an exchangeable technology module that is connected to the loudspeaker via a multi-pin power connector. This makes it easy to upgrade the semi-active loudspeaker with ITRON technology at a later date.

We spent more than five years developing the new G3 Evolution driver series. We experimented, improved, measured and listened. The horn and driver were perfectly matched and merged in the Evolution series to form a coherent unit of outstanding quality.

The perfect crossover.

With our SphericLowCut filter, Airgate technology and Polarization Plus circuitry, we have developed the most innovative technological concepts in our passive crossover. These are completed with the highest quality components. Our new NatureCap is an extremely elaborately constructed capacitor, handmade in Germany. Instead of wafer-thin plastic foils coated with aluminum, the electrodes are made from precisely rolled aluminum foil. We use a cellulose fiber compound soaked in biological oils as the dielectric. The NatureCap is around 25 times larger than the capacitors from the XD series and is securely attached to the circuit board using specially manufactured brackets.

XB12 bass driver.

RADICAL BASS. RADICAL DRIVE.

We have developed a completely new drive for the DUO GT. Compared to the previous model, we have increased the voice coil from 100mm to 153mm. With this gigantic 6-inch motor structure, we achieve absolute peak values for the power factor and load capacity, while simultaneously reducing power compression.

The motor structure consists of two high- grade magnets that are magnetized in Europe's largest 200,000 volt system. The huge voice coil transfers the power of the permanent magnet with 1.15 Tesla flux density to a voice coil circumference of 480mm. This is an increase of over 50% compared to the previous model!

We use low-carbon steel for the pole plates specially developed for the XB12. Το ensure high linearity even at maximum deflection of the membrane, the centering has a patented dynamic profile with a progressive design of the surround. The surround is made of low-loss NBR (acrylonitrile butadiene rubber) to achieve a fast and clean transient response.

The membrane consists of a composite of long-fiber paper and carbon fiber - extremely stable and torsion-resistant for a precise piston-shaped stroke of the membrane during the in- and out-swing processes. The new SingleFrame chassis of the XB12 has robust die-cast aluminum outriggers, which also enclose the magnet, for an absolutely stable material composite around the moving components of the engine structure.

The XB12 is our reference when it comes to bass. A statement that underlines the uncompromising and unique nature of the G3 series.

Bass amplifier.

STRENGTH IN ALL SITUATIONS.

The active subwoofer of the DUO GT is powered by the G3-1000 power module. This integrated power amplifier consists of a 1,000 watt amplifier, which ensures plenty of headroom even with complex EQ settings.

The subwoofer can be switched on remotely via a 12 volt switching voltage input. The direct connection to integrated amplifiers, power amplifiers or receivers is made via speaker level input terminals. Alternatively, line level inputs are available via XLR terminals. The signal tap is not only high-impedance, but also symmetrical and transformer-coupled. This keeps the circuit ground floating, which avoids hum loops and makes connection to symmetrical and bridged amplifier designs easier.

All electronics are protected by a state-of-the-art E-Fuse circuit. This is not only much faster and therefore safer than conventional fuses, but also provides ideal sound.

Digital crossover.

EVERYTHING UNDER CONTROL.

The bass amplifier is equipped with an advanced digital sound processor. With a level of precision and bit accuracy that cannot be achieved with analog technology, the digital crossover eliminates all passive filter elements in the signal path. The subwoofer volume is adjusted using two buttons on the DSP display. Extensive additional settings (e.g. high and low pass filters, equalizers, etc.) can be programmed using the Avantgarde Control software. The DSP has 2 x LAN sockets for this purpose, which enable daisy chaining and thus programming of several subwoofers at the same time. A USB connection is available as an option.

The user interface has been completely redesigned and now allows for very simple, intuitive use by the customer. All parameters can be easily adjusted to the room acoustics or listening habits.  The BASS-BOOST control can be used to boost the bass reproduction below 45 Hz and thus adjust the bass reproduction from "linear" to "fat". The DSP has an 8-band equalizer for individual frequency settings. Each of the 8 bands can be boosted or cut by up to 4 dB. This allows the bass reproduction to be adapted to specific sounds (linear, techno, disco, pop, etc.) or to reduce some broadband room resonances.  The LPF-RANGE slider adjusts the upper crossover frequency of the subwoofer and thus the "tonal balance" of the system. At higher frequencies, the subwoofer partially overlaps with the frequency response of the midrange horn. This makes the sound character of voices/instruments "warmer" and "fuller". When the crossover frequency is set to a lower frequency, the subwoofer and midrange frequency response have a small gap. The tonal balance of the system shifts towards a more "dynamic & powerful" sound. FILTER 1 & 2 are narrowband "notch" filters with a level reduction of -3dB or -6dB. These filters can be used to eliminate/reduce unwanted narrowband resonance frequencies in the room.
