MP 2000 R G3

Multi Source Player

The Multi Source Player

The MP 2000 R G3 is a masterpiece that seamlessly blends the timeless elegance of Bauhaus design with the limitless possibilities of a multi-source player. Effortlessly embodying T+A's signature quality, it delivers an exquisite array of media options - ranging from classic CDs and external SP-DIF devices to FM/FM-HD, DAB+, and Internet radio, as well as the latest streaming and connect services such as Apple AirPlay 2. Each signal is processed by one of the world’s most advanced converter systems: T+A’s Path Separation Technology. This innovation assigns dedicated converters to each relevant format, allowing PCM signals up to 384 kSps to benefit from our exclusive Quadruple Converter, while the T+A True 1-Bit Converter turns DSD files up to DSD 512 into analogue soundscapes. Through this intricate separation of signal paths, every format reaches its full potential, bringing our philosophy to life: the pursuit of sonic perfection through scientific research. As a result, the MP 2000 R can harness all digital music formats, delivering music to your amplifier with impeccable precision.

At the heart of our approach lies a passion for the purest musical experience, unsullied by interference or noise. The MP 2000 R G3 does not merely process an unparalleled variety of signals; it goes further, isolating the digital and analogue paths entirely with the T+A DASS (Digital Analogue Separation System). This results in an ultra-wide bandwidth analogue output stage, which transmits each signal on the shortest, cleanest route to either balanced (XLR) or unbalanced (RCA) output terminals, ensuring the signal remains pristine.
For effortless control, the MP 2000 R G3 is equipped with the SRC 1 system remote as standard. And for those who navigate the digital realm, the T+A MusicNavigator G3 app, available in all app stores, offers an intuitive command centre for the MP 2000 R G3 and all connected amplifiers of the T+A R-series.

Audiophile Streaming Architecture G3

Our Audiophile Streaming Architecture (ASA) of the third generation is the audiophile connection of the MP 2000 R G3 to the connected world. The focus of its development was on maximizing sonic potentials and source diversity. Therefore, its network boards process incoming WLAN, LAN, and USB master mode signals, allowing the MP 2000 R G3 to access not only streaming services like Deezer, Qobuz, and Tidal but also local network files up to 384/32 (HD) as well as incoming streams from mobile devices via Connect or AirPlay services in audiophile quality. In addition to convenient Connect services, the MP 2000 R G3 also offers the option to play uncompressed Flac files via aptX Bluetooth technology. For the first time in T+A's history, the ASA G3 is capable of playing DSD files natively from the network. For the highest quality playback, this stream is passed on to the T+A True-1Bit converter, which processes DSD files in their native bitstream without any loss of quality.

De-Jitter Masterclocking

Jitter is one of the most severe problems, and is generated in the source device – especially in computers – and at the data transfer point between source and converter. For high-quality reproduction all traces of jitter must be removed from the data before the information is converted into analogue signals by the DAC. That is why we have developed a unique two-stage process for clock generation (jitter elimination): in the first stage the received data are processed and decoded. In this stage a basic clock is extracted from the received data stream, which undergoes an initial cleaning process in a PLL circuit aimed at removing coarse jitter generated by the source device and the transfer. This clock is now analysed extremely intensively by the micro-processor. If it fulfils certain minimum criteria in respect of frequency and stability, the D/A converters are switched to an internally generated, extremely precise Master Clock with extremely low phase noise. This clock is completely isolated from the source device, and therefore carries no trace of the jitter interference from the source and the transfer link.
The local Master Clock is generated by two separate quartz oscillators which are adjusted to extremely precise tolerances: one for the clock family 44.1/88.2/176.4/352.8 kHz, and one for 48/96/192/384 kHz. This extreme sophistication ensures that the clock is absolutely precise for all frequencies from 44.1 kHz upwards.

Path Separation Technology: PCM Quadruple Converter

Once the clock has been generated, the PCM data are converted by the quadruple converter, which itself has undergone further improvement. The converter is based on a high-performance 56-bit signal processor, and offers four switchable oversampling algorithms. Each channel is assigned four of the latest 32-bit converter chips in a quadruple, double symmetrical circuit, which compensates very accurately for any lack of linearity, and reduces the residual noise – which is actually absolutely minimal with the 32-bit converters employed – by about a further 6 dB. The result is a level of dynamism, linearity and freedom from distortion which is virtually matchless – even in critical music passages, and with the most minute of musical details.

Path Seperation Technology: True1-Bit DSD Converter

To cater for DSD data which arrive via the PC USB input we have fitted the MP 2000 R G3 with the unique T+A True 1-bit DSD converter – a genuine analogue single-bit converter. Other manufacturers use the DSD mode of a PCM converter, but we eschew that route to ensure that DSD data are processed in a genuine one-bit stream absolutely without coloration and the harmful effects of additional conversion.

T+A DASS - Digital-Analog-Separation-System

Like our converters, the analogue output stage also takes the form of separate channels (double-mono), and is galvanically isolated from the digital section by means of jitter-free transformers. This arrangement ensures that external source devices cannot possibly deliver interference, and even the hideous computer interference is rendered innocuous. The output stage offers an extremely wide bandwidth of 100 kHz.Clearly this design is extremely sophisticated, but the results are worth the effort: totally natural, uncoloured sound, free of all the limitations usually associated with digital sources. The MP 2000 R G 3 constitutes a universal and genuinely audiophile device for digital music sources.

CD drive & Tuner

We are driven by our desire to unlock the full potential of every source - whether it’s the latest streaming service or a cherished CD from the past. This dedication is reflected in the design of the MP 2000 R G3’s high-end drive unit, which was crafted over six months using only the finest components. From the heavy-duty Mabuchi motor and floating sub-chassis to the stainless-steel pushrods and aluminium-ABS laminate tray, every detail was meticulously considered to ensure superior playback quality. Housed within a resonance-damped aluminium enclosure, the drive is shielded from any external noise that could disrupt the laser unit’s precision. Guided by two stainless steel pushrods, the unit's mechanical sophistication is evident at first glance—solid, refined, and engineered to perfection.
As a high-end product, uncompromising in its pursuit of excellence, the integrated radio tuner is no less exceptional. Featuring fully digital intermediate frequencies (IF), demodulation, and stereo decoder stages, it offers optimal sensitivity, high interference suppression, and advanced error correction, making it the finest radio tuner T+A has ever produced. With FM, FM-HD, and DAB+ services, it covers all available frequency bands and provides a host of convenient features such as radio text, presets, and additional functionality - ensuring that every listening experience is as effortless as it is exceptional.
