Focal 100 ICW8
SELECT OPTIONS:
100 ICW8
2-way coaxial speaker
The elder statesman of the 100 Series ICW loudspeakers (wall and ceiling integration), 100 ICW8 features a 21 cm driver. It combines sound performance, compactness and ease of installation for hi-fi listening in the home. Versatile, it ensures perfect sound diffusion in a variety of spaces (hallway, living room, bedroom, kitchen...), making it ideal for both stereo and home cinema installations.
OPTIMIZED ACOUSTICS
An inverted dome tweeter, adjustable for perfect adaptation to your room, combines with a 21 cm Polyglass diaphragm loudspeaker and a special crossover for defined sound and extended sound coverage. You can adjust the treble level (-3 dB, 0 dB, +3 dB) to match the acoustics of your room.
MOISTURE RESISTANCE
Thanks to the tropicalization of the Polyglass membrane, 100 Series in-wall and in-ceiling loudspeakers are perfectly suited to use in damp environments, such as bathrooms.
ADAPTATION AND DISCRETION
With its shallow mounting depth, the loudspeaker is quick and easy to install in walls or ceilings. Ready-to-paint magnetic grilles, circular or square, ensure discreet, aesthetic integration into your environment.

TECHNOLOGIES
INVERTED DOME TWEETER
Optimum space dispersion
The inverted dome tweeter has been a Focal signature since 1981, offering the property of being a true micro-speaker. The curvature of the dome is much less pronounced than that of positive domes. This results in better space dispersion and very low directionality, unlike ribbon tweeters. The inverted dome tweeter therefore generates unrivalled dynamics, enabling sound engineers to precisely control the dosage of compression. The precision of the image (height, width and depth) is remarkable, making it easy to position each instrument. What's more, a waveguide has been developed to perfect spatialization and further enhance the inverted dome's very low directionality. In the horizontal plane, the frequency response is within +/- 0.5 dB. This performance guarantees an incredibly stable soundstage.
POLYGLASS MEMBRANE
Well-defined mids
The diaphragm, the key component of a loudspeaker, is at the heart of our acoustic engineers' research. Polyglass technology, exclusive to Focal, consists of applying fine glass microbeads to a cellulose pulp cone. This process reconciles the excellent damping of paper with the rigidity of glass. The stiffness index is almost 10 times that of polypropylene. Adjusting the mass-rigidity-damping ratio results in a remarkably linear frequency response curve, right from the membrane design stage. This innovation also significantly increases definition in the midrange register.
