The Planar 6 RS is for the listener who likes Rega’s classic turntable form but wants more of what sits above it in the range. The RB880 tonearm, Nd9 cartridge and matched Neo MK2 power supply make this a complete, carefully considered package. Your next difficult decision can be which record to play.
What makes it the RS?
A brushed-aluminium skin reinforces the lightweight Tancast 8 plinth. The motor drives an aluminium sub-platter through a twin pulley and two Reference EBLT belts. Rega fits the RB880 arm used on the Planar 8, while retaining a conventional hinged dustcover.
The Nd9 package
This listing includes the factory-fitted Nd9 moving magnet cartridge, with its boron cantilever and fine-line nude diamond. It connects to an MM phono stage. The Neo MK2 supply is included and provides electronic speed selection and fine adjustment.

Putting it into your system
The turntable’s output goes to an MM phono input, or to a separate MM phono stage feeding a line input. The Neo is a motor power supply; it does not perform phono amplification. If you are moving from a turntable with a built-in phono stage, this is the connection to plan first.
Use a rigid, level support, leave space to open the lid, and follow the Nd9 setup and tracking-force instructions. House of Stereo can help with the analogue chain, from cartridge setup to the amplifier input.
