A good stereo does not need to become a second job. The A5+ puts a conventional amplifier, digital inputs, an MM phono stage and Bluetooth into one tidy component. Add a well-matched pair of speakers, pull up something you love and give the music your attention.

Where the A5+ fits.
Its 50-watt Class AB amplifier makes it a sensible starting point for a modest room and suitable speakers. We would choose it around listening distance and speaker sensitivity—not simply because the price lands in the right place. If television integration is central to the plan, the A15+ adds HDMI eARC.

ARCAM pairs a conventional Class AB output stage with a revised power supply in the A5+. The rated 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms becomes 75 watts into 4 ohms under a different test condition: the former is measured across 20Hz–20kHz, the latter at 1kHz. Keeping those conditions attached to the numbers makes comparisons more honest.
Three RCA line inputs accommodate sources such as a CD player or external phono stage. The separate moving-magnet input is specified at 47kΩ and 100pF; match the cartridge to that input rather than assuming every turntable belongs there. Digital inputs handle compatible PCM up to 24-bit/192kHz. Bluetooth 5.4 includes aptX Lossless and Auracast with compatible devices, and wired headphones have their own output.
