Polished Diamond

While designing the Diamond 30 mkII, we have strived at every stage to refine the sound coming out of the speakers while maintaining the signature sound philosophy of the entire series. Every element of the second generation was rethought, from the drivers to the cabinet and crossover. As a result, the lowest frequencies have gained depth, speed, and control; the midrange shows even more naturalness and neutrality, and the treble has become more detailed. The outstanding sound is complemented by a subtly updated design, making the speakers look better than ever.

Excellent sound of a three-way design

In this three-way design, two woofers from the Prestige series by Norwegian Seas guarantee depth, speed, and dynamics in the lowest frequencies. It is all possible thanks to their massive magnetic circuits, significantly larger than their predecessor, enlarged 1.5-inch diameter aluminum-copper voice coils, and a design that ensures a more piston-like operation. The midrange driver is also Seas’s design, modified by our engineers. Especially for the Diamond 30 mkII, the phase plug replaced the popular dust cap in the center of the diaphragm. The space under the protective disc, and thus its resonances, was eliminated, reducing upper midrange coloration. In addition to high dynamics, the driver provide excellent detail transmission and faithful vocal reproduction. All three speakers are made using Spider Ring technology, designed to enhance control over the manufacturing process of high-end products. The tweeter from Danish Scan-Speak has also been updated with a more powerful neodymium magnet system, reduced voice coil mass, and eliminated ferrofluid. It delivers even better detail and microdynamics at the highest frequencies, with greater efficiency and control. Also new is the dual resonance chamber design, which further reduces the primary resonance of the tweeter. An additional advantage of this speaker is reduced nonlinear distortion.

Details that change everything

Compared to its predecessor, the design of the column underwent a gentle facelift. The Diamond 30 mkII has a steeper front and back angle, which makes it look even better, but also improves the time integration of individual frequency bands. The base of the column has been completely redesigned to create a sleeker silhouette while maintaining a timeless, minimalistic character. The tweeter’s elegant front, crafted from durable black cellular rubber for extended longevity, not only adds a touch of exclusivity but also minimizes sound wave reflections. Cabinet wall vibrations are significantly reduced thanks to carefully considered and precisely placed reinforcements and ribs. Natural sheep’s wool and a new, specially selected soundproofing material combination dampen unwanted standing waves inside the speaker cabinet. The whole set underwent testing using a laser vibrometer and our anechoic chamber to ensure that, after all the changes, the set not only looks fabulous but also sounds excellent.
