Terms of service

Effective October 1, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Into The HiFi, 208 David Porter Ct., Saint Marys, GA 31558, United States (business registration number 2026-001941411), for using intothehifi.com and everything on it: the publication, the shop, your page, the newsletter, listening groups and meetups, and company pages. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. Who can use Into The HiFi

You must be at least 16 to have a page, post anything, or join a group or meetup, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live to buy from the shop. Keep the email you sign in with secure: anything done with a sign-in link sent to your email counts as done by you.

2. Our content

Articles, reviews, photos, designs and other content on Into The HiFi belong to us or the people who made them, and are protected by copyright. You may read and share links to them for personal use. Don't copy, republish or sell them without our written permission.

What we publish is our honest opinion and general information about audio equipment. It is not professional advice. Check details such as dimensions, power requirements and compatibility with the maker or seller before you buy or install anything.

Sponsored content is always marked as sponsored. If we earn money from a link or a partnership, we say so.

3. What you post

You own what you post: reviews, photos, recaps, and group and company pages. By posting it you give Into The HiFi a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to show, copy and adapt it (for example, resizing a photo) on the site, in the newsletter and in our social posts, credited to you or your group. You can delete what you post; we may keep copies already sent in newsletters or kept in backups.

When you post, you agree:

  • You have the right to post it, and it doesn't break anyone's copyright, privacy or other rights.
  • You only post photos of people who are happy to be shown.
  • Your reviews are honest, and you say so if you were paid, given the product, or work for the company that makes or sells it.
  • You won't post anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, misleading or spam.

We may remove anything that breaks these terms, and may close a page, group or company page that keeps doing so.

4. Listening groups and meetups

Listening groups and meetups are run by their organisers, not by Into The HiFi. We provide the pages, the RSVPs and the emails. We do not visit, check or supervise meetups or the places they're held, and we are not responsible for what happens at them, including injury, loss or damage. Please take the same care you would going to any gathering at someone's home or a venue.

Organisers agree to give accurate details about their group and meetups, to tell guests what they should know in advance (for example, stairs, pets or alcohol), to follow local laws for the gathering, and to mark only people who actually came as having come.

5. Host boxes, shirts and codes

Host boxes for organisers and sponsored shirts for people who come to meetups are gifts, offered while they last. We may change or end them at any time. Codes are for the person or group they were sent to, work once, can't be exchanged for cash, and cover the items stated. Shipping is paid at checkout unless we say otherwise. We may cancel codes or orders obtained with false information, such as marking people as having come who did not.

6. Company pages and sponsors

Brands, distributors and shops that run a page on Into The HiFi are responsible for what they post there, and confirm they are authorised to act for the company. Paid extras and sponsorships are agreed and invoiced separately, on the terms in that agreement. We may decline or remove any company content.

7. Buying from the shop

Who ships your order. Our shop sells two kinds of products, and each product page says which kind it is:

  • Shipped by a partner. Many products are stocked and shipped directly by an authorised dealer, distributor or maker ("fulfilment partner"). We take your order and payment and pass the order to the partner, who ships it to you. Stock, delivery times, shipping, returns, exchanges and warranty for these products are governed by that partner's policies, which we link on the product page or send with your order confirmation. By ordering, you agree to those policies. We stay your first point of contact: email us with any problem and we will work with the partner to sort it out.
  • Shipped by Into The HiFi. Products we stock ourselves are sold and shipped by Into The HiFi as the merchant of record. Our own shipping and return terms below apply to them.

If a partner's policy and these terms differ on fulfilment, shipping, returns or warranty for a partner-shipped product, the partner's policy applies. Nothing in either takes away rights you have under the law where you live.

Products and prices. We try to describe products and show colours accurately, but screens vary and we can't promise every detail is perfect. Product information for partner-shipped items comes partly from the partner and the maker. Prices are shown in US dollars unless stated, and may change at any time. If a product is listed at the wrong price, we may cancel the order and refund you.

Orders. Your order is an offer to buy. It is accepted when the product ships. We or the fulfilment partner may limit or cancel any order, for example if an item is out of stock or we suspect fraud; if an order is cancelled after you've paid, you are refunded in full. Orders with products from more than one partner may arrive in separate packages.

Payment. Payments are processed by Shopify and its payment partners. You confirm you are allowed to use the payment method you choose.

Shipping. Shipping costs and estimated delivery times are shown at checkout. Delivery dates are estimates. Orders shipped outside the United States may be charged import duties and taxes by the destination country; these are paid by the buyer.

Returns for products shipped by Into The HiFi. Unless a product page says otherwise, you may return unused items in their original condition within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the price paid. Email concierge@intothehifi.com before sending anything back. Return shipping is paid by the buyer unless the item arrived damaged, faulty or wrong. Gifts and items bought with a free code can't be returned for cash.

Returns for products shipped by a partner. These follow the partner's return policy. Start by emailing concierge@intothehifi.com with your order number, and we will tell you how to return the item under that policy and follow it through with the partner.

Warranty. Products carry the warranty given by their maker, handled through the maker or the fulfilment partner, plus any warranty the law requires. We will help you make a warranty claim.

None of this affects any rights you have under the law where you live.

8. Other websites

We link to other websites, such as makers, shops and events. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, products or privacy practices.

9. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the site: no attempts to break in, overload it, scrape it in bulk, collect other people's information, impersonate anyone, or use it for anything unlawful.

10. Disclaimers

Into The HiFi is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that the site will be uninterrupted or error free, or that content is complete or current, and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Products sold in the shop carry the warranty given by their maker, and any warranty the law requires, as described in section 7.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Into The HiFi is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the site, meetups, or products bought through it. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

12. Indemnity

You agree to cover Into The HiFi against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from what you post, a meetup or group you organise, or your breaking these terms.

13. Ending your use

You can stop using Into The HiFi and ask us to delete your page at any time. We may suspend or close your access if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as your permission for content already published, disclaimers and limits of liability) continue after that.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living outside the United States, you keep any protections your local law gives you. Before bringing a claim, please email us so we can try to sort it out.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and tell you by email if the change is significant. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
