You do not have to replace a good amplifier to bring streaming into the system. The ST5 adds network playback and a built-in DAC in a slim component, with RCA outputs for a conventional line input. It is especially easy to consider alongside the A5+ or A15+, with a control link for compatible Radia amplifiers.

Give an existing amplifier a network connection.
The ST5 is a source component with an ESS ES9018 DAC, stereo RCA outputs and optical/coaxial digital outputs. Connect the RCA pair to a line input to use its internal DAC, or send digital audio to a compatible external DAC. Its control link lets a compatible Radia amplifier respond as part of the same system.
Wi-Fi and Ethernet connect it to the network. ARCAM lists Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, AirPlay, Google Cast and Roon Ready, along with Radia-app setup, radio and podcasts. Its published playback specification reaches 24-bit/192kHz and includes DSD128 support. Gapless playback is listed. Check the chosen service and connection method: the maximum file specification does not promise that every streaming route delivers that resolution.
Connecting it to your system
Connect the stereo RCA outputs to a line-level input, never a turntable phono input. Use an optical or coaxial output when the destination DAC is handling conversion. This component does not directly power passive loudspeakers.
Establish the network connection, install current software and choose the service or local library you actually use. For an existing system, the useful questions are which DAC you want to hear, how you want to control playback and whether you need amplifier control integration.
