House of Stereo · Conrad-Johnson
The case for keeping it classic.
A good stereo starts with a simple ambition: put on a record and want to hear the whole thing. The Classic 62 makes an appealing foundation for a dedicated separates system, with EL34 output tubes and a straightforward approach to amplification.

Inside the design
Purposeful engineering.
The standard Classic 62 uses EL34 output tubes. The separately listed SE version uses KT120s and upgraded passive components. Choose the model deliberately: KT120s are not a drop-in substitution for this amplifier’s EL34s.

Build the right system
The details that matter before it arrives.
Connect a preamplifier or suitably volume-controlled source to the RCA inputs. The manual specifies at least four inches of clearance above and three inches at the sides, with the shelf open front and back. Built-in indicators assist output-tube bias adjustment. Follow the manual when replacing tubes.
