Control without conversion
PS Audio uses discrete JFET and bipolar devices in a fully balanced Class A circuit. The preamplifier works with the analog output of a DAC, disc player, streamer, or phono preamplifier. It does not add digital conversion or a built-in phono stage; those functions stay with the appropriate source component.

Two XLR stereo pairs; two RCA stereo pairs. Two balanced and two single-ended output pairs accommodate compatible amplification and additional system connections. The USB connection is for firmware service rather than USB audio. Plan cable routing and output use around the input requirements of your amplifiers.

Build the analog path
Source analog output → preamplifier → power amplifier → speakers. Digital sources need a DAC; turntables need a phono stage.
Set gain sensibly
Begin at low volume and match the output connection to your amplifier. More gain does not automatically mean better sound.
Plan the connections
Use the required input pairs and leave rear-panel access. USB on this preamplifier is a firmware connection.

Common questions
Does it include a DAC or phono stage?
No. This is an analog line-level preamplifier. Use a separate DAC for digital sources and a suitable phono stage for a turntable.
Can USB carry music?
No. The USB connection is intended for firmware updates.
