Synergistic Research / Galileo Lux
Pure silver.
Personally voiced.
A reference power cable for listeners who want to understand the design—and make the final listening choice themselves. Explore the construction, the technology and the tuning below.

A closer look at Lux
Start with what
is inside.
Galileo Lux combines silver wire and ribbon geometries with an actively biased shielding system. Its included modules give you a practical way to compare voicing in your own system.
Our approach: make the engineering easy to explore, then help you match the cable to your equipment and listening priorities.

01 / Shielding
The technology
around the conductors.
SR’s UEF framework targets unwanted electrical and mechanical energy throughout a system. In Lux, that approach includes graphene-based Matrix Shielding and a formulation derived from SRX XL.
SR describes the goal as quieter backgrounds with an easy, unforced presentation.

Three ideas worth understanding.
Silver in air.
Sealed PTFE / air surrounds the silver conductor groups. “AirString” is SR’s name for this cable geometry.
A biased ribbon laminate.
SR describes the DC-biased silver laminate as a flexible EM Cell intended to manage the surrounding field and direct high-frequency noise toward ground.
Read SR’s EM Cell explanation ↗High-voltage conditioning.
Also called Quantum Tunneling by SR, this factory process targets the conductor–dielectric interface. It is part of manufacturing, rather than a user adjustment.
These are SR’s design descriptions and intended effects. The listening comparison below helps you evaluate the result in your own system.

More than a material list
Construction is the starting point.
Your system is the context.
Before choosing a length or finish, consider where the cable will run, the space behind the component and the inlet it needs to reach. A carefully planned installation lets you concentrate on the listening comparison.
A choice you can hear for yourself
Two passive voicings.
One familiar system.
SR describes its tuning modules as influencing the cable’s surrounding field. The two passive options offer different listening priorities.
Master Passive
Explore air and precision.
SR’s stated emphasis: detail, air and linearity.
Gold Passive
Explore warmth and flow.
SR’s stated emphasis: warmth and a more liquid presentation.
Included with the cable: one Black Active, one Gold Passive and one Master Passive tuning module.
For a useful comparison, keep the music, volume and seating position consistent. Listen for vocal texture, bass definition, separation and listening comfort. Change one variable at a time and keep notes on which presentation you prefer.

Before you choose
Make room for the right connection.
How should I choose the length?
Measure the actual route from the outlet or conditioner to the component. Include bends and room to move the equipment for service. The current selector offers 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 feet; contact us for other lengths.
Which component connector should I choose?
Choose 15A Standard for a compatible standard inlet, 20A for equipment requiring that component connector, or 32A PowerCell for the matching SR conditioner connection. The 20A upgrade adds $25; 32A PowerCell adds $200. These are connector configurations: choosing one does not change the circuit available at your wall. Tell us your component model if you need help matching the inlet.
Where does external grounding fit?
SR offers separate grounding products alongside its cables. If you want to explore that approach, we can review your existing grounding arrangement and confirm the appropriate connections and leads before recommending an accessory.
What should I compare during an audition?
Use recordings you know, including a natural voice, acoustic instruments and a demanding bass passage. Keep the playback level consistent and compare the same short passages. Choose the presentation you want to live with over a longer listening session.

Make the audition
your own.
A useful demonstration begins with a clear question: are you seeking a different tonal balance, greater ease over long sessions, or a better physical fit for your installation?
Bring us your component list and a few familiar recordings. We can help structure a comparison around the system you have and the qualities you value.
