PS Audio PMG Signature Series · Stereo pair
Room for the music to expand.
Build your system around two dedicated power amplifiers, one for each speaker. The PMG M800 pairs substantial output capability with a high-bias analog design, giving you a foundation for a demanding stereo system.
This listing is for a matched-finish pair: two monoblock amplifiers, in your choice of Silver or Black. The displayed purchase price covers both amplifiers.

A dedicated amplifier for each channel
Plan the system around your speakers.
A stereo amplifier puts two channels in one enclosure. With monoblocks, each channel has its own chassis and power supply. That separation also gives you more flexibility in where the amplifiers sit: a pair can be placed near the speakers while the source components stay together elsewhere in the room.
The M800 is specified at 400 watts into 8 ohms, 800 watts into 4 ohms, and 1,200 watts into 2 ohms per amplifier. Those ratings are useful when assessing a speaker whose impedance changes with frequency. Speaker sensitivity, listening distance, room size, and your preferred playback level still belong in the conversation.

Inside the amplifier
Bias, current, and the power supply.
PS Audio combines a current-based, low-feedback circuit with high Class A bias and an active power supply. Bias establishes how the output devices operate around small signals; the supply provides the electrical resources they draw on as the signal grows.
These are parts of the design, rather than listening impressions. We would assess the result with your speakers and familiar recordings: quiet passages, dense arrangements, and musical peaks each reveal different aspects of a system.
The amplifiers are hand built in Boulder, Colorado. The understated front panel leaves the connection and control options on the rear.
Making it part of your system
Connections you can plan before delivery.

Balanced or single-ended
Connect the left preamp output to one M800 and the right output to the other. Each amplifier accepts XLR or RCA; select the corresponding input on its rear panel. Use one input connection per amplifier.
Balanced XLR is a sensible starting point for longer cable runs. Check your preamp's outputs and cable route before choosing interconnects.
Flexible speaker wiring
Two sets of binding posts on each amplifier provide a connection option for speakers designed for bi-wiring. The posts accommodate suitable banana plugs, spades, or bare wire.
Use the speaker manufacturer's instructions to decide on single wiring or bi-wiring, including the treatment of terminal jumpers.
Coordinated standby
A compatible preamp's trigger output can control amplifier standby. The M800 provides a 3.5 mm trigger input and output, allowing the two amplifiers to be connected in sequence.
Trigger input accepts 5–15 VDC; output is 12 VDC. Confirm compatibility with the controlling component.

Specifications checked against PS Audio's current product page and August 31, 2026 owner's manual. Output ratings are measured at 1 kHz with less than 1% THD; the much lower typical distortion figure uses the separate conditions stated above.
Before you order
A confident purchase starts with a good plan.
Does the price include one amplifier or two?
Two. Order quantity one represents one stereo pair in the selected finish. Each amplifier supplies one channel; the pair covers left and right.
Will these work with my speakers and preamp?
Start with your speaker model, its impedance and sensitivity, your preamp, and the size of your listening room. The M800's power ratings describe its capabilities under stated test conditions. House of Stereo can help you assess the complete match, including cable runs and playback levels, before you purchase.
How much space and ventilation do I need?
Each amplifier is 17.5 inches wide, 8.75 inches high, and 27.5 inches deep including its feet and rear posts, before allowing room for cables. Each weighs 95.7 pounds. Use supports rated for that load and keep ventilation above and below the chassis unobstructed. The substantial idle power consumption also makes heat and room ventilation part of the installation plan.
Can I connect a subwoofer?
The rear Foundry output is a dedicated connection for compatible PS Audio Foundry subwoofers. For another subwoofer, choose a connection supported by your preamp and subwoofer, and check its manufacturer's instructions. Ask us to review the wiring plan if you use a speaker-level subwoofer connection.
What arrives with the pair?
The owner's manual lists an amplifier, power cord, and quick-start guide for each unit. This listing includes two amplifiers. Speaker cables, signal interconnects, and trigger cables are separate system choices.
Where can I read the setup and warranty instructions?
Open the official PMG M800 owner's manual (PDF) for connection diagrams, operation, placement guidance, and the manufacturer's three-year limited warranty terms. Contact House of Stereo for current availability, delivery arrangements, and the purchase terms applicable to your order.
