The Fono Mini A2D is a high-quality phono pre-amplifier for use with any moving magnet cartridge. The addition of a USB interface allows you to easily transfer vinyl to your PC if required. The restyled Fono Mini A2D amplifier offers improved usability, exceptional performance and incredible value for money while promising to be a valuable addition to any hi-fi set up.

  • Compatible with all moving magnet cartridges
  • USB output
  • A2D functionality
  • Compact custom case design
  • Adjustable gain level to optimise quality when recording to PC
  • Lifetime warranty against manufacture defects

To transfer vinyl to your PC, you will need to install a digital audio editor. Such software is widely available as a free download (such as Audacity), from the internet. This is a simple interface which allows monitoring of volume and balance whilst transferring your audio to your PC hard drive.

Audio editing software includes a level meter which indicates the output level achieved when playing a piece of vinyl. You should adjust the output as necessary via the ‘Level’ control located on the front panel. Always take special note of record levels to ensure optimum recording quality.

Best phono preamps 2024: budget to high-end phono stages tried and tested - Read More

"Sonically, it's as frill-free as it looks but gets the basics right. It's a lively presentation, full of convincing and nuanced dynamic contrasts, with power and passion behind vocals. While it's not the most refined or spacious sound, there's ample detail and insight to hold our interest. We use both a Sumiko Rainier MM and Vertere’s Sabre MM cartridges during our testing and the Fono Mini A2D sounds balanced with both. It has Rega's surefooted sense of rhythm and punch, plenty of low-end articulation and its overall composure when the music gets demanding is admirable." - Kashfia Kabir

Rega Fono Mini A2D Mk2 review - Read More

"Sonically, this new version of the Fono Mini A2D is no step forward over its predecessor. Rega doesn’t claim to have made any changes to the audio circuitry so that conclusion shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. This new one looks just a little smarter and still sells for a competitive price. Its ability to convert the signal from vinyl into digital is handy, but for us it is the quality of the sound that continues to impress. Quite simply, we haven’t come across a better-sounding alternative at this entry level. " - What Hi-Fi?

"While its USB connection is a definite selling point, we think perhaps the highest praise we can give Rega here is that the Fono Mini A2D is a class-leading phono stage. You can consider its extra features as a very generous bonus.

Whether you want to digitise your vinyl or are just looking for the best phono stage under a ton, this little black box from Rega is certainly one you absolutely must hear." - What Hi-Fi?

"I should have mentioned the recommended retail price. That’s $199. That would be a reasonable price for the Fono Mini A2D even if there weren’t an A2D function. Since there is, it’s somewhat of a bargain. " - THOMAS BARTLETT
